Oh come on in the second half we were lucky Wolves have such a poor attack otherwise they would have equalized and our boys were in no form for extra time. This was no vintage performance and the midfield problems are still there and I would never trust Gomez as centre half for a whole season. The guy has been given too many chances and should be one of the many players sold or discarded at the end of the season.

Literally just replacing Fabinho for Bajcetic would change almost everything. This was the whole problem in 20-21; VVD got injured so Fabinho had to play CB and the defence got no coverage without a proper CDM. It’s the same thing now, but Fabinho is just an utter shambles. I can only assume some of his ligament strains have effected him permanently, but he needs to be sold while there is still some illusion in world football that he’s actually decent. CDM is low-key the most transformative position on the pitch; Kante, Casemiro, Fabinho when he arrived.

Elliott is not the world class player he is made out to be. He is very fast and sometimes can get a decent shot in. However, he is not a regular goal scorer he just does not have the instinct. So he will never properly replace a regular great goal scorer like Salah. So he needs to learn to play in midfield were he has been very suspect. He does not cover well and Trent has been exposed many times, his positioning is not good, never gives a good cross, his decision making is actually very bad, he often looses possession and worse of all he is not trusted at all by the other players especially Salah and Trent who are the players he should be linking most with on the right hand side. I don't think he will make the grade at Anfield and in a few years he will become like Curtis Jones.

@sidhanth muralidhar the senior players not in good condition. They burn out, to much injure and the uninjured one have to push their body every week, sometimes 2 games a week. Of course it makes their performance drop. For now, I just glad the team give good performance, senior or young players
